In this week’s RCIA session on All Saints Day and All Souls Day, we will be discussing the scriptures, discovering Invitations of Jesus and doing meditative prayer as our candidates look forward to the Rite of Welcoming on November 22. (more…)

During the month of November we will have a Shrine of Remembrance at the side alcove of the church. You are encouraged to inscribe the names of our beloved dead in our Book of Remembrance. The All Souls envelopes with the names to be remembered during this month will also be placed at the shrine. (more…)

The St. Bernard 1^st Annual Steeple Chase Fund Raising Committee members want to thank everyone who helped make our efforts a HUGE SUCCESS! We could not have met our goals without your generous contributions and participation. The evening was a joyous time to celebrate our parish and enjoy each other’s presence. In addition, we raised $12,734.50 which covered the cost of repairing the steeples. (more…)

St. Vincent – St. Mary High School cordially invites interested students to an Open House on Thursday, November 5, from 6:30 to 8 PM. STSM students and parents will provide tours of our facilities and faculty and coaches will be present to answer your questions.

This weekend the Knights of Columbus Council 547 is distributing membership information at the doors of the church.  Men of the parish, along with wives and families, are invited to share food and drink and learn more about the Knights at an open house in the Knights new quarters below Heart to Heart in the old convent building.  Enter the building from the University Avenue entrance near the corner of High Street.  For more information call 330-434-1280.

High School Confirmation classes began on Monday, October 19.  It is not too late for students to be enrolled for this year’s Confirmation process at St. Mary’s School on Monday nights at 6:30 p.m.  Students may come to class on Monday and parents can register them. If anyone has any questions concerning Confirmation, please call Deacon Jim White at 330-535-3700.

Our next Meeting St. Paul gathering will be on Wednesday, November 11 after the 12:10 Mass in the church meeting room and at 7 pm in the office meeting room. Everyone is welcome!

The Catholic Bishops of Ohio have reviewed three state wide, non partisan, issues that will be before the electorate on November 3, 2009.  Issue 1 is a proposed Constitutional Amendment that would authorize the state to issue bonds to compensate veterans of the Persian Gulf, Afghanistan, and Iraq Conflicts.  The Catholic Bishops of Ohio are “not opposed” to the passage of Issue 1.
