Thank You from Sr. Catherine

Dear Parishioners, Thank you. Last month I made an appeal for St. Vincent de Paul Society (SVDP) home visitors. Your response was generous and very helpful in carrying out the mission of SVDP Parish Chapter. Now we have a team of four pairs doing regular home visits to the most needy of our neighbors. We received requests through the parish, through Catholic Worker and through CORE. Before any furniture is given a pastoral home visit is made for the purpose of accessing the need, building a helping relationship, and to pray with the family. So far St. Bernard’s group have made eight home visits, assisting more than 20 people. The visits are the heart of the ministry of SVDP. We thank you for the support, especially the home visitors – the “face and heart” of SVDP. We receive furniture from the Fr. Hilkert, Ozanam Center at Visitation of Mary (Annunciation) and CORE on State Rd. With Gratitude, Sr. Catherine Walsh C.S.A.
