Catholic Charities Annual Appeal

Posted on Feb 10 , 2010 in Announcements

This weekend, February 13-14, an in-pew commitment process will take place. All who have not received the mailing, or have not had a chance to respond to it, will be asked to consider making a generous pledge to support the ministries and services provided by Catholic Charities.

If you have received the mailing, please respond to it. There is a box on the envelope that you will receive next weekend where you can indicate that you responded by mail. This is not a “special collection.” As the requests for the services of Catholic Charities increase and government funding of their programs decrease, it is absolutely necessary for each of us to do what we can to assure the needs of those who depend on Catholic Charities are met.

Each of us is encouraged to consider a pledge of support that will be billed over several months. The theme of the Appeal is taken from the Readings of the Day for next weekend. We ask that each parishioner consider the plight of those served by Catholic Charities. Then, reflect upon the gifts God has given to each of us. Place your trust and hope in the Lord as you consider your gift. Based upon these reflections, determine how much you will return in gratitude for the gifts you have received. Please pray for the success of this important Appeal.
