Dear Parishioners,

Most everyone has heard via the news media about the appeal by parishioners of 13 closed Parishes in the Diocese. According to the media the Congregation for the Clergy at the Vatican heard the appellants, including members of the former St. Mary Parish in Akron, and on March 1, ruled in their favor to reopen the churches and re-establish the Parishes.

Bishop Lennon informed the Diocese and the media that he received the official documents from the Vatican this past Wednesday, March 14. He will begin to study their findings and consult with his advisors. He will then let us know his plans for the Parishes.

Since this ruling affects our future together, I ask your prayers to the Holy Spirit to keep us attentive to our day-to-day tasks, open to the concerns of all involved, and be appreciative of the unity He brought about in us through the Eucharist and service to others in such a short time. Cuando las parroquias de St. Bernard y de St. Mary fueran cerradas en 2010 por el obispo, algunos feligreses lucharon para abrir St. Mary de nuevo. Recibimos noticias que ganaron por una decisión de la Congregación de Clericós en el Vaticano. Por ahora el obispo de Cleveland piensa estudiar los documentos y hacer una decisión para el futuro de nuestra parroquia de St. Bernard-St. Mary. Cuando tengo mas información puedo compartirla con todos ustedes. Favor de orar al Espíritu Santo que podemos mantener un espíritu de gracias por toda la unidad que tenemos por El. Gracias.

Espero que esta Cuaresma pase bien para ti y tu familia. Refleja en los 10 Mandamientos del Señor. Son buenos conductos para crecer in fe.

Después la misa vamos al social hall para discutir la hoja “Creciendo en la Fe”. Es otra oportunidad de aprender mas sobre nuestra fe en Cristo.
