PARISH GIVING TREE serves families who need help at Christmas. There will be decorated trees on the side Altars of the church. Please select an ornament(s); you will see that half goes home with you and the other half goes in a box near the tree for our records. Purchase the required item(s) and bring your wrapped gift to the parish office or church as soon as possible but no later than Sunday, December 7th. Make sure that the tag is securely attached to the outside of the package so we can get it to the right person. (more…)

The Bishops of the United States have provided a bulletin notice asking for our action as citizens in the matter of health care reform. These are available in the back of the church. Please take one, read it, and take appropriate action. We need a just and equitable healthcare reform that provides for all persons, especially the least and the most vulnerable in our midst.

Included in this week’s bulletin is a ballot to vote on your choice of names for our new parish. Please choose three (3) names. Your choices should not be made on the basis of personal devotion or favorite, but rather on the basis of what can best describe or unite the whole parish. We have a good example in our neighboring new parish ― Visitation, which connate to both Annunciation and St. John the Baptist. Deadline for submission of your ballot is Nov. 22nd.

Our Lady of the Elms High School is hosting an OPEN HOUSE this Sunday, November 8th from 12 – 3 p.m. You are invited to not only meet our faculty and students, but to also take a tour of our outstanding school. Starting next weekend, parishoners will be given the opportunity to vote on a name for our new parish.  There were 260 suggestions turned in during September.  The naming committee reviewed all your suggested names and considered the reasons given. (more…)

During the month of November we will have a Shrine of Remembrance at the side alcove of the church. You are encouraged to inscribe the names of our beloved dead in our Book of Remembrance. The All Souls envelopes with the names to be remembered during this month will also be placed at the shrine. (more…)

The St. Bernard 1^st Annual Steeple Chase Fund Raising Committee members want to thank everyone who helped make our efforts a HUGE SUCCESS! We could not have met our goals without your generous contributions and participation. The evening was a joyous time to celebrate our parish and enjoy each other’s presence. In addition, we raised $12,734.50 which covered the cost of repairing the steeples. (more…)
