Answer the Call Conference- Men mark your calendars for this year’s “Answer the Call” Conference. In the past 1000 Catholic men from N.E. Ohio attended this one day conference with dynamic speakers and a closing Mass with Bishop Richard Lennon. The conference will be held Saturday, February 25 at Villa-Angela-St. Joseph High School, 18941 Lakeshore Blvd., Cleveland. Speakers will be: Fr. Timothy Kalista, St. Mary’s in Chardon. Catholic Evangelist Richard Lane, featured on EWTN. Fr. Ken Sommer, founder of Catholic Men’s Fellowship. Conference begins at 8AM with a light breakfast. WARNING: Falling Ice – It is that time of the year when snow and ice begin to accumulate on our church roof. When the temperatures rise, the accumulation slides off onto parked cars doing severe damage. PLEASE DO NOT PARK DIRECTLY ALONG THE NORTH SIDE OF THE CHURCH. IT IS DANGEROUS. DROP PASSENGERS OFF AND PARK FURTHER IN THE LOT OR AT THE POLSKY (WestCampus) PARKING DECK. It’s free!

St. Vincent Knights of Columbus Free Throw Competition will be held Wednesday, January 25th in St. Vincent School’s gymnasium. Girls and boys ages 10-14 are invited to participate in this free throw competition. The event will begin at 7:30PM and last about an hour. Gym Shoes only please. The “Dine for DC” Spaghetti Dinner will be held Saturday, January 28 at 6:00 p.m. at St. Vincent Church. Proceeds will benefit the 8th grade class trip to Washington D.C. in the spring. This dinner will follow the 5:00 Mass in which the Confirmation and First Communion classes will come together to celebrate with a Sacramental Prayer Service. All are welcome! Recycling – Please deposit your junk mail, magazines, newspapers and flattened cardboard in our recycle bins in the parking lot. We also collect used printer or toner cartridges, “Box Tops” and Coke reward points from bottle caps or carton ends. We’ll begin collecting ACME receipts when the reward program begins. Thank you!
Tuition – For many years our school tuition was kept very low, one of the lowest in Akron, so a Catholic Education could be affordable. This year we have had to raise tuition substantially to cover operation expenses.
Although the school depends on outside financial aid to assist our students, the Fr. Hilkert Fund Envelope in your bimonthly packet is an effective means to better a life. Please consider helping a child receive a solid foundation for life through the Fr. Hilkert Fund. Thanks.
Night at the Races

St Bernard-St Mary Parish Night at the Races will be held on Friday, May 4, at Emidio’s Banquet Center. The purpose of the event is to raise funds for the purchase of the parish pickup truck and snowplow that will be used at both the church and school. The “Race for Horsepower” tickets are $40 each and will go on sale next Sunday after all of the Masses. Ticket prices include dinner, beer and wine and a chance to win a 4 day/3 night stay at Sunset Resorts in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. Mr. Jerry Pae of Star Entertainment will be running the races. Program advertisers, horse sponsors and raffle prizes are also needed. If you know of any donors or have questions contact Tom Fritsch at 330-784-2278.

Not a video lecture or study of the Church history or scripture, this engaging and interesting formational program uses the art, architecture, literature, music and all the treasures of the Catholic tradition in various countries to illuminate the timeless teachings of the Church.
This Adult Faith Formation series presents the strong, Church dimension of our Catholic Faith – God’s revelation through Jesus Christ and His Church.
Fr. Dan will facilitate the 10 weeks covering each topic and allow time for discussion, prayer, and reflection. Bring a friend! All are welcome to attend one or all sessions.
