Family Perspectives– When Jesus drove the merchants out of the temple, he was not angry, he was PASSIONATE! Jesus clearly believed in what He was doing! The gospel tells us that because of this, “many believed in His Name because they saw the signs that He was showing them.” If we expect our children to learn our values and beliefs, then they must witness our passion for these values. Just like the people in today’s gospel, our children need to see the signs of what we‘re doing if they are to believe. Children need us to be passionate leaders.

Statement of Bishop Richard Lennon of the
Catholic Diocese of Cleveland
Regarding the Shooting at Chardon High School
The Catholic Community in the Diocese of Cleveland shares the grief of the families and friends of the five victims in the shooting this morning at Chardon High School. We continue to struggle in disbelief with the horrifying nature of the incident and we look to God to bring us peace and comfort.
In particular, our prayers go out to the family of Daniel Parmertor who died as a result of the shooting.
A special, ecumenical prayer service will be held Tuesday evening, February 28th at 7:00 p.m. in St. Mary’s Catholic Church just across the street from the high school. All are invited to attend.
We ask for everyone’s prayers in order to bring healing to the families of the victims, to the Chardon community, and to the family of the young man who is reported to be responsible for this terrible tragedy.
N.B. We remember too students lost since this notice.
