The Reverse Raffle to benefit St. Bernard-St. Mary School. It will be held November 19 at 6:30 p.m. in the School Hall, 750 S. Main Street. Tickets will be sold after the 9:30 a.m. Mass in the Social Hall or you can call Tom Maximovich at 330-836-6765. Discounted tickets for University of Akron students. God will bless you for your generosity.

Oct. 29 at the 4:30 Mass; and Oct. 30 at the 11:30 Mass, we will offer the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick after the homily. Those wanting to be anointed, please sit in the reserved front pews for the Mass.

Pre-baptism Program is scheduled for November 20th, from 2-3:30 PM in the Church, for all parents wishing to have their children baptized. Our next meeting November 9th will feature a Life of one of the Saints. The meeting will be held at SB-SM School starting at 7:30pm. Refreshments will follow

SB-SM Cemetery Clean up Day – A Cleanup Day is scheduled for our cemetery on Saturday, October 15 from 9:30 AM to 12:00 noon. Volunteers are needed. Using the parish truck, work will involve removing brush, cleaning along the fence line and the setting of markers. If you can, please bring a pair of gloves and a garden or leaf rake. An alternate date will be Saturday, October 29. The cemetery is located on Maple St. just north of West High (school) Apartments.

The Holy Name Society’s next meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 12th. “Fatima Part II” will be shown. The meeting will be held at St. Bernard-St. Mary School, 750 S. Main St., at 7:30 p.m. All are welcome to attend for this inspirational event.

October 11th Healing Service Here – Frank Kelly was raised the sixth of twelve children in a devout Irish Catholic family in Boston. He miraculously survived what should have been a lethal dose of electricity. His life took a dramatic turn and his early devotion to the sacraments, rosary and prayer increased. Now he travels throughout the country, sharing his life changing experiences and story, which is the subject of the book “Short circuit to God.”

His ministry consists of Healing Services, Spiritual Seminars, Retreats and Conferences. His periods of prayer with individuals are powerfully accentuated by his gifts of discernment, word of knowledge, and healing. Many have been touched by God through this simple, humble man whom God uses as a vessel to heal mind, body and soul.

Please join us at SB-SM Parish on Tuesday, Oct. 11 at 6:30 PM. Extend an invitation to relatives and neighbors who seek the Lord’s Healing Presence.

Parish Council Meeting – Monday, October 10 at 7pm in the Conference Room new council members will be installed: Cheryl Custer (Ed), Jim Dyer (Patty), Tom Fritz (Rose), Gary Geis (Karen), John Hornacek (Mary), Dave Klein (Ruth), Susan Kramer (Fred), Dennis Siwik, Helen Trares, and Richard Williams. The term is for two years; some will serve for only one year to provide an ongoing rotation of council members.

Blessing of Animals – This Tuesday, October 4th, the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, we will have a Blessing of Animals (pets) at the School site at 6:00pm. If your house pet, a creature of God, is a blessing to you then let’s all gather at the School where there is parking and grass at 6pm. Let’s give thanks for this blessing in your life. Special blessings for anyone with a giraffe!!
