‘A Night at the Races’ planning meeting will be held next Sunday, September 25 following the 9:30 Mass in the conference room off of the lower parking lot. If you would like to help plan this event and make it a successful fund raiser to buy a new truck and snow plow for our church and school, you are welcome to attend.

High Schoolers and Parents – Mrs. Cathy Sivec, the cluster Teen Ministry Director, will be here at SB-SM Parish Social Hall at 10:30am, September 18, to answer any questions about the Teen Ministry Program.

Invites you to come and share time with our Lord Sunday, September 11th at St. Bernard – St. Mary’s upper room Chapel. 3pm “Moments of Reflection” a Musical Interlude (taped) Divine Mercy Chaplet, 3:45pm Exposition and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament (main altar, Fr. Reed), 5pm Sacrament of Reconciliation and 6pm Holy Mass(bilingual).

Friday, September 2nd at 12:10. Parishioners from the cluster gather to offer Mass and spiritual support to those near death. All are welcome to come and pray.

Ushers – There will be a meeting of our parish ushers on Tuesday, August 23 at 7:00pm in the Parish office Conference Room. Anyone interested in being an usher or greeter for our weekend Masses is invited to attend. Please call the office if you cannot attend. Thank you.

Please join us at a Women’s Breakfast Saturday, August 27th at 9:30 A.M. Topics: “Women’s Health: Taking Care of Yourself” (speaker Dr. Cheryl Johnson), and “Adding Creativity to Your Life” (Brenda Mitchell). It will be held in the social hall at St. Bernard- St. Mary Parish (44 University Ave.). No charge for the event. There will be door prizes, and health information handouts! Bring a friend and enjoy an informative breakfast together with the women of Akron. The breakfast is sponsored by St. Bernard-St. Mary Parish and Neighbor to Neighbor Woman. PARISH PICNIC at Loyal Oak Lake Park (Hametown Rd., Norton) on Sunday, August 21st after the 11:30 Mass. Bring your family and a picnic lunch. The Knights of Columbus have paid your admission, reserved a Pavilion, and will set up charcoal grills for those who need to cook. There is swimming, Putt-Putt golf, and Volleyball. This year No food or beverages will be served and there will be No Mass at the park. Please bring along enough food for your family and guests, and any games or activities to enjoy. Let’s have some FUN together!

First Friday Club – Margaret Vogel, Specialist in Youth and Young Adult Ministry of the Office of the Diocese of Cleveland, will address the First Friday Club of Greater Akron on Friday, August 5th at their luncheon in the Martin Center of the Univerisity of Akron, 105 Fir Hill. Her hour long presentation will begin at noon with the topic: “Will Our Children Have Faith?” The cost of the luncheon $15 with doors opening at 11:15 a.m. For more information call 330-535-7668.

AERO’s NIGHT for SB-SM is Saturday, July 30.

Let’s take Fr. Dan out to the Ball Game…who cares if he ever gets back…☺!! It’s a fun night sponsored by the good K of C’s Council. Mass at 5pm, hot dogs in the Social Hall, then a leisurely walk over to the 7pm game. Let us know you’re coming for tickets and food.
