Thank You so much for all that you do to serve our brothers and sisters in need and your support of the Hunger Programs at St. Bernard Church. Whether you come downtown to cook and serve meals at the Hot Meals Program, make sandwiches and pass out bagged lunches at the daily Corbett Center, stock shelves and bag groceries at the weekly Food Pantry, pick up food from local stores and the food bank, we thank you for the gift of your time and energy. For your donations of warm clothing and blankets for those who are homeless, for setting up the Giving Tree and all the generous gifts donated at Christmas, for your ongoing donations of food to help feed those who are hungry, for your individual financial contributions and business or community grants that have allowed these programs to continue for more than 4 decades and most of all we appreciate your prayerful support… We are deeply grateful. We want you to know that all of these gifts you so generously share make a difference in the lives of the poor & hungry in our community. Each of you are the hands and feet of Jesus… feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, sharing God’s love with one another.
This past Christmas we were able to provide more than 300 men & women who came to our doors, a nutritious meal and warm clothing as well
as a blanket for those living on the streets. In addition, nearly 55 children were fed and also received a hat & gloves, a warm fleece kid’s blanket, stuffed animal and a book… All of this happened because of your generosity.
For more than 40 years volunteers at St. Bernard’s have helped to feed those who are hungry both in body and spirit. During 2013 the DAILY SANDWICH PROGRAM passed out more than 26,000 bagged lunches, the FOOD PANTRY shared groceries of 3 days or more with hundreds and hundreds of families and the HOT MEAL PROGRAM served more than 14,000 people a nutritious meal, passed out warm clothing, as well as prayers and spiritual support. Of course, this could never happen without you… We appreciate all that you do to share God’s Love with others…
