High School students looking for Service Hours at the Hot Meal program at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Akron need to complete the Service Hours Application and mail it to Lisa Smith at the address on the form.

Here is the hot meal 2011 volunteer schedule for the Hunger Program at St. Bernard-St. Mary.   Thanks to all the local volunteers, parishes and other churches who support our ministry to those in need.

If you are a student looking for service hour opportunities next year, St. Bernard’s Hot Meals program has some openings.  You’ll need to download this Service Hour Application and return it to us as soon as possible.  Thanks!

Hot Meals Volunteers Needed: Are you of high school age or older and looking for a volunteer opportunity? Our parish is responsible for serving the Hot Meal in the Social Hall the last Wednesday of each month. Preparation begins around 3:45 p.m., the meal is served at 5:30 p.m. and we usually finish by 7:00 p.m. Please contact Lisa at (330) 929-8612 for details or with any questions you may have.

This year’s RCIA class helped out with hot meals as they do every year. volunteering to serve Akron’s hungry.

As a reminder, the lonely, hungry and needy people who are served through our hunger programs remain lonely, hungry and needy throughout the year.  Our parish has made a commitment to providing volunteers for the Hot Meal in the Social Hall on the last Wednesday of each month all year long.   (more…)
