Hot Meals Volunteers Needed: Are you of high school age or older and looking for a volunteer opportunity? Our parish is responsible for serving the Hot Meal in the Social Hall the last Wednesday of each month. Preparation begins around 3:45 p.m., the meal is served at 5:30 p.m. and we usually finish by 7:00 p.m. Please contact Lisa at (330) 929-8612 for details or with any questions you may have.

Hot Meals Help on Last Wednesdays

As a reminder, the lonely, hungry and needy people who are served through our hunger programs remain lonely, hungry and needy throughout the year. Our parish has made a commitment to providing volunteers for the Hot Meal in the Social Hall on the last Wednesday of each month all year long. Your help and donations are needed throughout the year. If you are a member of St. Bernard or St. Mary and are of high school age or older, we invite you to get involved. Akron officers collect donations for hot meals

Two of our security guards for hot meals; Officers Mike and Mike, spent four hours at a Speedway collecting non- perishable food items and cash donations for the hunger program. A huge thanks for their support.

Thanksgiving Hot Meals Help Needed

HOT MEALS is hosting our annual Thanksgiving Dinner and we are in need of volunteers. We would like to extend an invitation to the parishioners at both St. Mary’s and St. Bernard’s who may be interested in sharing a little of your time with those who are in need of a warm meal, respite from the cold and a friendly smile.

We begin our food preparation and set-up around 3:45 PM. We serve the meal at 5:30 and are usually cleaned up by 7:00 PM. We hold an orientation for all new volunteers after the hall is set-up. Volunteers must be high school age or older and need to be accompanied by a parent if under 18.

If you are not available to help serve the meal on Wed. Nov. 25th but would still like to help, we are in need of people to pre-cook a turkey for the meal. We have some turkeys available in our freezers now if you would like to pick one up or you can purchase one yourself and cook it for the meal. If you choose to cook it in advance, you can freeze the meat. Please thaw it and bring it to the church by 4PM on Wed. We will make other arrangements if you are not available to drop the meat off on the 25th.
