Want to be Healthier in 2010? Many of us are concerned about the environment and food we put into our bodies and only buy the best. Do we apply the same care when choosing a method of birth control?

The decision to have a child is one of the most important areas married couples will ever discuss. The Church is here to help us live out our wedding vows to be open to life yet many are actually closed to life when using birth control. The Church wants us to be HAPPY and HEALTHY. One option for a happier and healthier marriage is via Natural Family Planning. NFP is 99.6% effective. NFP allows you to follow the Church’s teachings and not worry about the fact that many forms of birth control are an abortifacient and lead to higher risks of heart disease, cancer, tumors, stroke, depression, & surgeries to reverse the effects. Learn about the Magic of NFP during the next class series starting…Wednesday, March 24th at 6:30 PM. Queen of Heaven’s Parish Life Center. We were scared to go off birth control but it has really strengthened our marriage. To explore if this is for you, contact Ben & Kay Metzler at 330.896.3350 or nfpteacher@hotmail.com.

There are moments in our lives when we are faced with decisions that change us and shape our lives. Sometimes we are not fully aware of how life-changing a particular moment and decision might be. At other times we at least have a sense, if not an explicit awareness, that we have come to a “fork in the road”. In Luke’s Gospel the experience at Tabor is such a life-changing moment for Jesus. Luke adds a detail to his source that makes this clear. Moses and Elijah converse with Jesus about His “exodus” – His journey to Jerusalem and His death. Jesus could have chosen to continue His very good work in Galilee and not place His life in serious jeopardy. But He would not have then have been faithful to His Father and His mission. In our Lenten journey toward a closer and more faithful discipleship of Jesus, we are called to learn from Him and follow His example in facing these life-changing moments in our own lives. Our transformation is an experience not merely of a moment, but of a life-time.
