Hot Meals is an outreach program which serves more than 1,000 meals each month to our brothers and sisters who need food. Meals are served on the third, fourth and (if necessary) fifth Wednesdays and Sundays of every month in the large social hall at St. Bernard-St. Mary Parish in downtown Akron.
For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me, naked and you clothed me, ill and you cared for me, in prison and you visited me. – Matthew 25
Meals are served at 5:30 pm. Volunteers who come to help should plan to arrive at 4:00 pm in the St. Bernard kitchen. If it’s your first time volunteering, you’ll need to attend an orientation session to learn the ins and outs of the program.
If you are a student, then please download and fill out the Service Hour Application – 2013-2014 and mail it to Lisa Smith at the address on the form.
We need your help:
- Donations: We always need food and money. One hundred percent of your donation will go to help hungry people.
- Volunteers: Come and help us serve a meal and share in our fellowship and good spirit.
- Spreading the word: Let people know what we are doing and share the word.
If you’d like to help, send an email to Tony or Lisa Smith

You forgot to change St. Bernard-St. Mary Parish back to St. Bernard Parish for the Hunger Program.
Fixed! Thanks for the catch.
