Lent has begun! BibleStudy Tuesdays@6; Stations of the Cross Fridays@6:30; Parish Mission Mar 24-28!
The St. Bernard Parish Council provides the Church, through the Pastor, with advice at the strategic level as well as acting as a “sounding board” for ideas, initiatives and direction for the Church. Parish Council members assist with projects undertaken by the Church, including the advancement and promotion of St. Bernard.
Parish Council is comprised of at least eight members, including at least one representative of the Hispanic community at the parish, all of whom are registered parishioners in good standing of St. Bernard Parish, and who are interesting in fulfilling the purpose of the Church. Members serve two-year terms, renewable once. Parish Council also includes one student representative from RooCatholic Campus Ministry, who serves a one-year term.
Because of the diverse and unique composition of the St. Bernard community, a representative from each Mass time serves on Council. The Pastor may always invite whomever he sees fit, as well as for “at large” membership. Those wishing to serve on Parish Council may complete and submit a brief survey to either a current Parish Council member or the Pastor for consideration. Members are appointed by the Pastor.
Meetings are the second Monday of the month at 7:00 pm. Special meetings may be called as needed. Meeting minutes are maintained at the parish office and available by request. You may also contact any of the Council members through the parish office.
